In a thrilling encounter that kept fans on the edge of their seats, Meralco bounced back from their recent slump to defeat TNT Tropang Giga, 106-99, in the 2023 PBA Commissioner's Cup on November 26, 2023, at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig, Philippines.

TNT Starts Strong

TNT, led by the unstoppable Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, established an early lead in the first quarter, outscoring Meralco, 28-23. Hollis-Jefferson was a force to be reckoned with, scoring 14 points in the opening period.

Meralco Responds with Balanced Attack

Meralco, however, refused to be intimidated by TNT's early dominance. They responded with a balanced attack in the second quarter, outscoring TNT, 31-20, to take a 54-48 lead at halftime.

Hollis-Jefferson Continues to Shine

Hollis-Jefferson continued his torrid performance in the third quarter, scoring 16 points, but Meralco's balanced attack proved too much for TNT to handle. Meralco extended their lead to 79-72 heading into the final period.

Meralco Holds Off TNT's Late Charge

TNT tried to mount a comeback in the fourth quarter, but Meralco held on to their lead. Hollis-Jefferson finished with a game-high 47 points, but it wasn't enough to prevent TNT from suffering their second straight loss.

Balanced Bolts Shine

Meralco's victory was a result of a balanced team effort. Four players scored in double figures for the Bolts, led by Chris Ross with 20 points, Bong Quiapo with 18 points, Allein Maliksi with 15 points, and Cliff Hodge with 12 points.
