Carlos Sainz claimed a dramatic pole position for the 2023 Singapore Grand Prix, beating Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc by just 0.054 seconds and 0.072 seconds respectively.

The Ferrari driver produced a stunning lap time of 1:48.222 on his final run, toppling Perez from the top spot at the last minute.

Leclerc was also in contention for pole, but he made a small mistake in the final sector of his lap which cost him time.

Max Verstappen was only fourth fastest, but he will start the race from third place on the grid due to a grid penalty for Sergio Perez.

Lewis Hamilton was fifth fastest, followed by Fernando Alonso, Lando Norris, George Russell, Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly.

The qualifying session
